Egypt has always been a MONARCHY. From the Pharaoh's time until July 1952 Egypt was officially ROYAL. But then a group of Army officers changed all that. They ousted the LAST FORMAL KING Farouk and installed his young son for a little while. Then they declared a REPUBLIC and installed the old wise General Mohamed Naguib as a figure head. Soon after, they confined Naguib to his home under house arrest and, between them, chose Gamal Abdel Nasser as leader and President of Egypt. Since then, instead of one king, Egypt had many kings. Everyone of them abused Egypt and its people in his or her way aided by a huge number of beneficiaries and parasites. Here are the New ROYALS, the most prominent:

King Nasser - President until killed in 1970

King Sadat- President 1970 till Assasinated 1981

King Mubarak 1st- 76 Years Old - President since 1981

Field Marshal Abdel Hakim Amer; Supreme Commander of Egyptian Armed Forces and In-Law of President Nasser- Allegedly committed Suicide in 1967 after the six hour defeat of Egypt by Israel

Marshal Abdel Ghani Al Gamasi- Renowned for his major role in the 1973 war against Israel

Field Marshal Tantawi- Minister of Defence- Most powerful man in the Egyptian Establishment

The 1952 Revolution Council- many of whom were ousted in short time by Nasser's entourage

Mohamed Safwat El Sherif; Minister of Information, one of Sadat's confidants and supporters of the treaty with Israel

Mubarak's son Gamal- President in waiting, if allowed by Tantawi (above) and Sherif and ElShazli ( The Old Guard) below

Mohamed Hassanein Heikal- Editor of Al-Ahram, confidant and Speech writer for Nasser. Heikal is now giving an account of his "old age" views on current world politics on Al Jazeera Satellite channel as well as on some Arab nespapers. Heikal's NEW VIEWS totally contradict his YOUNGER VIEWS as "Nasser's Media Man"- He is now attacking ARAB REGIMES accusing them of PAYING BILLIONS to PUPPETS like Former Spanish Prime Minister AZNAR and Current Australian Prime Minister Howard to STAY IN IRAQ in SUPPORT of BUSH. Heikal also accused ARAB SHEIKHDOMS of ABORTING the 1960s EGYPT/SYRIA UNIFICATYION. HEIKAL ddoes not say a word about the hundreds of thousands of EGYPTIANS who disappeard or were killed by the Nasser regime.

Kamal El Shazli- Youth Assembly Organiser- Former Egyptian Intelligence Officer who was allegedly involved in a lot of sleaze and many scandals

Head of Shura Council (consultative council) Mohamed Safwat El Sharif. An old Guard with some 32 years at high ranks in the Egyptian Establishment.

SALAH NASR, Director of General Intelligence and one of the so called CENTRES of POWER in Nasser's Establishment. He and his top intelligence team committed atrocities, including TORTURE of POLITICAL PRISONERS, and other criminal offences against Egyptian people who opposed the regime. Also accused of abducting a famous young actress in pursuance of his sexual desires. We could not find any picture of that notorious criminal in any Egyptian archive. *********** SAMY SHARAF- right hand of Nasser and confidant. Another top Nasser's aide accused of criminal offences against Egyptian people opposing the Nasser regime. Was put on trial by Sadat in what was called "Centres of power TRIAL". No picture could be found for him in any Egyptian archives.

First Lady: Gehan El Sadat, thought to have Liverpool origin, was in charge of many organisations and very powerful. She left to America after Sadat's death where she was given a lecturing job in one of America's universities.

Kamal El Shazli- another old Guard with 35 years at high ranks in the Egyptian Establishment

ABUSE OF HUMAN RIGHTS, particularly FREEDOM OF SPEECH, is a common thing in Egypt. This writer on TRIAL behind Bars has been there during Nasser Era__*************************Shaarawi Gomaa, Minister of Interior. Known for being notorious against University Students uprisings and clamping on Muslim Brotherhood members. Also alleged to have some obsene affairs with some Egyptian actresses and belly dancers. He was put on trial by Sadat for his role in the CENTRES OF POWER trial.No picture could be found for him in any Egyptian Archives.

Talaat El Sadat- President Sadat's brother who aws involved in many big projects and big money making contracts

Ibrahim Nafie, Editor of Al Ahram, the State newspaper, and speech writer for Mubarak- Anoth Old Guard

Shams Eldin Badran, Minister of Defence after death of Marshal Amer. Thought to be corrupt as well and was put on trial by Sadat. No Picture could be found for him in any Egyptian archives

Effat El Sadat- President Sadat's brother, Owned the Huge SADT GROUP of companies involving using state money

Farouk Hosni- Minister of Culture, another old Guard

Um Kolthoum, Top Singer and Nasser Confidant. Known to have her word as law with the Government including Nasser. It was said that Um Kolthoum, Hassish (Cannbies) and Foot Ball were the OPIUMS that led to the terrible CORRUPTION in Egypt and the ultimate defeat in the YEMEN War and the 1967 defeat by Israel in six hours.

Hemmat Mostapha, Television presenter and Sadat's top confidant.

Mamdouh El Beltagui- Minster of Information, Former Minister of Tourism- another Old Guard

ABDEL HAMID HASSAN: YOUTH MINISTER, Former University Student Union President. Accused of spying on univeristy students and abusing public funds. We could not find any picture for him in any Egyptian archive.

Ibrahim Siida, Journalist Editor of Akhbar El Youm, Speech writer of Sadat. No picture for him can be found in Egyptian archives even at Akhbar El Youm

Suzzane Mubarak; First Lady, active in Women circles, charities and children projects. Her name appears on so many public buildings and projects. Claimed to be of Welsh origin

Berlunti Abdel Hamid, Actress, a number of books and biographers Alleged that she was mistress of Marshal Amer for sometime and, therefore, was the most powerful woman in Egypt. No picture of her could be found in Egyptian archives.

Boutos Ghali- Foreign Minister - Now Mubarak's Foreign Affairs Advisor and, most recently, Chairman of the newly installed JOKE called "The EGYPTIAN HUMAN RIGHTS" ORGANISATION or whatever.

Farouk Mubarak, the president's brother. Owner of a major translation company that has monopoly on major translation contracts.
